While I am a trained professional equipped to address a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, I want to ensure you fully understand the scope, limitations, and potential risks associated with these services before booking.
Orthopedic Massage is Not a Substitute for Medical Care
Orthopedic massage is a complementary therapy — it is not intended to diagnose or treat underlying medical conditions. If you have an existing medical condition, injury, or concern, please consult with your physician or healthcare provider before scheduling a session. Any medical issues should be evaluated and addressed by a licensed healthcare professional first.
Potential Risks & Contraindications
Orthopedic massage may not be appropriate for individuals with certain conditions, including:
-
Osteoporosis or brittle bone disease
-
Active infections (skin infections, abscesses, or cellulitis)
-
Bleeding disorders or recent surgery
-
Pacemakers, artificial joints, or other implantable devices
-
Recent stroke or head injury
If any of these apply to you, please contact me before booking so we can discuss whether treatment is appropriate for your situation.
What to Expect Before Your Session
You will be asked to complete a comprehensive health intake form prior to your appointment. This allows me to understand your medical history, identify any contraindications, and design a session that is both safe and effective for your specific needs. I reserve the right to decline or modify treatment if I determine that orthopedic massage is not appropriate based on your health history.
Assumption of Risk
By booking a session, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the information above, and that orthopedic massage is a complementary therapy that may not replace conventional medical treatment. Certain techniques may cause temporary muscle soreness or bruising — please communicate openly during your session so I can adjust pressure and technique accordingly.
Your safety and well-being are my top priority. I look forward to working with you and supporting your recovery journey.
